Pre-Move In: What You Need to Know
Packing accordingly
As you prepare for your move, remember that Nest Housing provides fully furnished mini suites, complete with a bed, mattress, desk, and ample storage space. Our amenities include a study room with a printer, a package room, and a fully equipped kitchen stocked with essentials like dish soap, garbage bags, utensils, dishes, and more. Since we provide so much, focus your packing on personal items and clothing suitable for the warm Southern California weather.
Determine Your Move-In Date:
Be sure to confirm your scheduled move-in date to help you plan your travel and logistics.
Get Renters Insurance
Before you move in, it is a must to obtain renters insurance to protect your belongings while you’re living with us. This step is crucial for safeguarding your items against unforeseen circumstances.
During Move-In: Checklist for a Smooth Transition
On the day of your move, ensure you have the following items ready:
- Proof of Insurance:
Bring a copy of your renters insurance policy to verify coverage. - Move-in Inspection Form:
You will receive this form upon arrival, which must be handed to a leasing agent on the same day. This form helps ensure your suite is in good condition before you settle in. - ID Documents:
Be prepared to present your ID documents during check-in. - Contact Information:

Upon check-in, you’ll also receive the codes and key fobs to your new home and additional information to help you get settled.

Respect quiet hours from 10 PM to 8 AM to ensure a peaceful living environment for everyone. - General Cleanliness:
- Always clean up after yourself in shared spaces, such as the kitchen and bathroom.
- Wash, dry, and put away dishes immediately after use.
- Sweep or vacuum the floor if you spill anything.
- Kitchen Etiquette:
- Clean the stove and oven after each use, ensuring burners are turned off.
- Wipe down the microwave and refrigerator after use. Remember to label your food in the fridge with your room number.
- Keep the kitchen organized and tidy by returning shared utensils and cookware to their proper places.
- Weekly Cleaning Service:
Enjoy the convenience of our weekly cleaning service, which helps keep shared areas tidy and pleasant for all residents. This means less stress for you and more time to focus on your studies and enjoy campus life. - Safety and Security:
